Koijak Contessa poll 439 Pedigree just calved 20 June '24 with a neat polled bull calf sired x MHF Genesis p. Weighed 40 kg (88 lb) with no extra numery teats. This cow 439 calved last year on 13 July '23. Shortening her calving interval by 23 days. I use a soft rope to sling the calf up for the scales on a pole.
She was friendly enough to tolerate this. Not all cows are such. Sometimes we yard and separate them to get the birth weight.

We recently supplied a couple of Braunvieh heifers for daughter Alice's Hockey trip "cow pat Lotto". On 1 meter grid of 100 squares, turn in cows and wait, watch, wait some more. After an hour, wait, then at 90 minutes, voila, plop on square number 8, the winner of $5000.
The heifers are sired by Koijak Dr. Pepper.
We are Andrew and Robyne Rainsford. We have spent a lifetime researching the Braunvieh Breed. Poll Braunvieh has been selected at 'Koijak' Apsley Victoria, Australia since 1975. We used horned Fullblood Braunvieh bulls over Angus cows and introduced the poll factor. Subsequent four crosses to Braunvieh arrived at Purebred level and Polling of most of this herd is the result. Over one thousand five hundred Braunvieh calves have been born, assessed and selected in our herd. See more about us here
